It no secret that it rains in the UK for up to a 3rd of the entire year, and that's why us Brits need to be prepared at any given moment for rainfall! Raincoats are a big necessity, especially in autumn and winter months when the grey skies start to appear more frequently, so if we have to wear them, we may as well style them up!

I have accumulated quite the collection over the past few years, and I want to show you that raincoats aren't only for keeping the rain of our shoulders. This post will be all about styling them to show that these can be warn for any event. (OK, maybe not with a ball gown, but you catch my drift)

Here are a 4 of my favourites...

This look is so playful, and what better way to brighten up the dull weather with the colour yellow! With summer only recently ending, there's no reason not to keep up the bright colours for a little longer. Yellow is the colour of happiness, and that's certainly how I felt whilst doing this shoot.

Coat - Topshop

Jeans - Newlook

Trainers - Adidas

This is another look with a lot of colour, but definitely a different style to the last. I like to think of this look as 'so totally punk rock' with a raincoat. The leather look leggings with the patent leather boots combined with the plastic fabric of the raincoat gives a shiny texture to the whole outfit, which I think looks so sexy. The band tee then gives a more casual look, which finishes it off perfectly.

Raincoat - Yumi

Leggings - ASOS

T-shirt - Topshop

Boots - Dr Martens

This outfit is PROOF that you can wear a raincoat as part of a dressy outfit. This coat is so elegant in the way that it hangs which I think is especially flattering for my short, curvy legs. The length is slightly longer which gives it a trench coat feel when combined with the beige colour. This is my go-to coat for a rainy evening out on the town!

Coat - Zara

Dress- Zara

Boots - New Look

This look has to be my favourite of them all, as its so chilled and comfy. Its more suited to winter as the lining of this coat is cotton, unlike typical raincoats. The look as a whole is very skater which is super easy going and will forever be stylish.

Coat - Ralph Lauren

Trousers - Topshop

T-shirt - ASOS

Trainers - Kurt Geiger
