Like everyone else, I'm so happy to see that festivals are beginning to go ahead for this summer! But the question is, will you embrace the old ways of dancing in a field, up close and personal with a stranger whilst in a sea of people, or are you a little apprehensive?
I have to say, I'm both! Whilst I um and arrh about buying myself a ticket, I wanted to delve into the magical moments that festivals give. The live music, drinks, atmosphere, being with friends, they all add up into this wonderful experience that make them one of my favourite activities.

Queuing outside of the festival entrance leaves me with anticipation like no other. As you get closer to the entrance, the faint thudding of music gets louder and louder, and you can feel the excitement creep up on you. I get butterflies in my stomach and almost a nervous feeling! Once your ticket has been checked and you walk through the barrier, you know the next mission is to find the bar and get to your first act. After grabbing your 3 beers, or bottle of wine (without the lid) you find yourself a spot to sit and chill for a while. I love planning out the day with my mates "I really wana watch these at 3, they're in the blue tent", "yeah alright, then we can go see him at that stage".

I love the early afternoon, sitting on the grass with a pint and a burger, listening to the acts on the main stage whilst you and your mates chat. Once the acts you want to see start popping up, you go from tent to tent and stage to stage. I love seeing the bands you've seen a million times, and then nipping to see someone you have never heard of before!
As the day goes on, the acts get bigger, and before you know it you've watched 6 bands already and you're waiting for the headliner. The roar of the crowd when the band comes simply gives you the best feeling in the world, in that very moment you're all connected.
The walk back to your tent or taxi home feels like a lifetime of distance, I'm always trying to find a food stall so that I can try and sober up and feel half decent for the day after. I love my sleep, so after a full day of drinking, dancing and singing I'm ready to hit the sack.
I am still feeling apprehensive about it, but I'm sure after a few a beers I will get back into the swing of things, and god knows I love a good gig!
